Qualification

REVISED QUALIFYING PROCEDURES APRIL 2016

The aim of the Foundation is to support Junior Golf in Ireland. Invitations to participate in the Champions Weekend will be extended to Irish Golfers who meet the qualifying criteria set out below and who have declared for and are eligible to represent Ireland in international events.

Boys Qualifying Criteria

Invitations will be extended to the winners of the following Tournaments:-

Under 18s Champion
Irish Boys Champion
Leinster Boys Champion
Ulster Boys Champion
Connaucht Boys Champion
Munster Boys Champion
Under 16s Champion
Irish Boys Champion
Leinster Boys Champion
Ulster Boys Champion
Connaucht Boys Champion
Munster Boys Champion

Girls Qualifying Criteria

Invitations will be extended to the following players in 2016:-

Munster Girls Champion
Irish Girls Stroke Play Champion
Irish Women’s Close Champion
East Leinster Girls Champion
Irish Girl’s Close Champion
Mid-Leinster Girls Champion

Note:

If the Irish Girls Stroke Play is not won by an Irish girl the next highest ranked Irish player on the girls order of merit on 1st September 2016 will qualify and will be invited.
If the Irish Women’s Close is not won by a girl under 18 the next highest ranked Irish player on the girls order of merit on 1st September 2016 will qualify and will be invited.

Note re. Qualifying Procedures

The Darren Clarke Foundation will from time to time review the qualifying procedures and the qualifying criteria and the qualifying tournaments with the ILGU and the GUI. The foregoing qualifying criteria applies for the golfing year 2016.

Other Invitees

The Foundation will from time to time invite additional aspiring golfers who for one reason or another have not met the qualifying criteria.
